Happy Holiday Gardening!
Nearly two years ago, in January of 2005, I created a post titled Welcome To My Winter Garden. It featured the beauty of naturally formed ice crystal patterns discovered on my window one cold and frosty morning. Well, just in time for the Holiday Season, my Winter Garden is once again in full bloom! I hope these pictures, while not quite as spectacular as the previous Garden pics, will help to get you into the Holiday spirit. Please enjoy them, and I wish a very HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON to all my friends! :)

Are you telling me these pictures are taken in your garden?!!
Wow... i love gardening by the way. all my plants always have names... i look at the plan and give it a name based on how it looks... usually they happen to be girls names :) things like Charlotte, or Cicile or Dina... the only guy i had was called Tony!I feel they do much better when they have names!...
madas
Anyway happy 2007!
Hi Madas, actually these pictures were taken of a window that formed garden-like ice crystals. :)
When I was a child and a teenager, I liked to plant vegetable gardens. I grew carrots, tomatos, cucumbers, and even watermelons once. I also like to plant trees. Some of them have grown quite large in the years since I planted them. :)
I think it is neat that you like to name your plants. Maybe they do better because they feel loved. :) Btw, my sister's name is Charlotte. Interesting that you like that name.
Happy 2007 to you too! :)
Water crystals are just amazing! If you read my new post, David, you'll know that I just came back from a winter hiking adventure, and one of the strongest images I am now carrying around with me are those of snowflakes and ice in their many varied forms....
Winter magic!
I hope you had a good New Year celebration, and I wish you a very good year ahead, my friend....
Thanks Tamara for your good wishes! :) Hey, I like to hike too, but I take it easy in the winter. It sounds like you got up close and personal with some serious snow and ice! I will head right over to check out your new post. :)
hi,happy new year!
Hi Yabco, thanks and Happy New Year to you too! :)
So pretty! Happy new years to you...and your ice garden.
Hi Jarvenpa, I'm glad that you liked my pictures! :) Happy New Year to you too! Regarding my ice garden, it melted away a few hours after I took the pictures. So far, it is the only garden to form this winter. I think that it takes a very special combination of temperature and humidity for the ice crystals to grow. So, it is really something special! :)
The pix are great!
I am spending my mandatory military service :-S
Glad you like my pics Omid! :) Were you not able to see them before? Spend freely, my friend, spend freely! :D
Happy New year David! I wish you all the best for 2007.
I love the idea of naming plants, how sweet:)
Hi Lavinia and thanks! :) Novus Annus Felicitas to you too! So, what is your favorite plant name? I think that Fred and Charles sound pretty good to me. :)
Winter creates some lovely designs especially with frost, on the down side almost every two years I have to lay new turf because of the dog and what winter does to my lawn.
I love winter especially the patterns that the frost puts up on the conservatory windows, last year I left the skylights open and after an overnight frost that was particularly harsh I found even the conservatory cushions had frozen. After they had thawed I found that the frost had actually destroyed them and I ended up renewing.
